Brynmill Primary School - School Aims

Our Vision

To provide a broad and challenging learning experience within a secure and happy environment where the children can develop the confidence to reach their full potential in an ever changing world.

Ø     As a school we aim to promote high achievement and learning for life by working with children so that they will:

  • Develop enquiring minds and a spirit of curiosity;
  • Be flexible and adaptable for the modern world;
  • Be able to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Achieve their full potential in all areas;
  • Seek to extend themselves in mind, body and spirit.

Ø     Through our teaching we aim to:

·        Enable children to become highly motivated, confident, resourceful, enquiring and independent life long learners;

·        Foster children's self esteem, respecting themselves, others and the environment;

·        Help them build positive relationships with other people;

·        Develop children's self respect and encourage children to respect the ideas, attitudes, values and feelings of others;

·        Enable children to understand their community and help them feel valued as part of this community;

·        Help children grow into reliable, independent and positive citizens.

Ø     We will demonstrate our commitment to achieving these goals by:

  • Challenge expectations for ourselves and children, striving for continual improvement in all that we do;
  • Provide a stimulating, safe learning environment;
  • Work collaboratively though open and sharing practice towards common goals;
  • Encourage children to have high expectations, academically, socially and in general behaviour;
  • Build an ethos of support, challenge and encouragement to succeed;
  • Developing   learning partnerships between school, home and the community;
  • Be good role models;
  • Value achievement alongside attainment.
